Looking for an engagement photo style guide to make sure you get those perfect engagement photos? You’re in luck!
Sometimes the thought of getting ready for engagement photos can seem daunting. It’s an added stress on what to wear, what time do schedule photos and being nervous about being in front of the camera. Luckily, I can help with every single thing!
Let’s talk about why engagement photo sessions are so important to me. I include a complimentary engagement session with every single one of my wedding packages! Why is that? Because I think it’s SO important to get to connect with my couples and this is an amazing way to do that.
We get to test the waters before the big day. Try out poses, see what you’re comfortable with, and we get to know each other better! I don’t want to be a stranger on your wedding day. I’m here to help you thrive and capture alllll the love you and your partner have!
So, I will guide you through the entire session. I’ll tell you where to put your hands, make you laugh and make being in front of the camera as easy as possible!
Choosing an outfit should be based on a few factors. What season you’re taking your photos, what scenery will your shoot be in, and what you’re most comfortable in.
If you’re taking your engagement photos in the summer, a sweater is probably not the best. You don’t want to get too hot and sweaty. If you want those snowy engagement photos, maybe opt out of the long flowy dress and pick out a cute jacket and jeans!
When it comes to choosing colors… you want something neutral. Any solid color, whites, tan, or maroon are all great choices no matter what season! If you have a floral printed dress or a striped shirt you want to wear, I would have your partner wear a solid color. Too many patterns can be distracting and it will ultimately take away from you!
Below are a toooon of my previous engagement sessions that absolutely nailed it, so feel free to take any and all inspiration! If you want even more inspiration, you can check out my Engagement board on Pinterest!
